Wisconsin: Summer 2011

Since its early, and all my work from school still needs scanning, I'll post the most random image(s) I can find in my archive!
This, of course, is Bettie Boop. I found her at Ella's Deli in Wisconsin, the most unique sandwich shop I've ever been to. When I was a kid, my parents used to take me there when we made our yearly journey out to Madison. The whole place is covered in these pop culture characters from the 1950's to the present, and they're all moving around on the ceiling on this pulley system thing'y. Its like this wild crazy loud circus of flailing cartoons made out of paper mache. Really hard to explain, if you're ever in Madison check it out. Best fried cheese curds!
She's a little disgruntled now, not exactly aging nicely...

Note To Self: Wide Angle Lens.
The interior is so funky, but I couldn't capture it completely with my 50mm.

Photography, hogwash, hello and the sorts.

So here's the story...
I'm 20 and am a photography junior at the Art Institute Of Boston, and just recently decided that I need to get up and moving in the world of the inter-webs (oh boy, we'll see how this goes...) I'm an analog buff, love experimenting with wet processes, and recently I'm beginning to delve into digital. Needless to say, I am very technologically inept, and a little scatter-brained. I'm already working with clients, and I don't even have my own website yet!

This is more of a personal shindig, to get the ball rolling. I have plenty of work I've worked on at AIB, loads of random mishmash things I've shot for myself, and so much more that I want to shoot--but no where to put it all! I'd rather not upload to Facebook, Tumblr really grinds my gears (that's a story for another day...) I also do a bit of bookbinding, REALLY DIG MUSIC OF ALL SORTS, and do some sewing here and there. Basically--If I'm going to roam around in the art world, I can't be invisible.

So here we have it! A bit of myself, a bit of my work, and voila! Blog attempt number... wow, lost count. Hopefully I can track my progress.

Pardon, a little disgruntled. Its 5:00am and I have to work in the morning. I'm spending the month of July with highschool kids, who are taking college classes at AIB, and chasing them all around campus. Can't wait to be outta here (though I love everyone) and onto living in Brookline.
